Medical Finance Admin & Debtors Controller

SUMMARY:
Are you proficient in finance and administration managing customer queries and bad debt portfolio?  Experience within the medical sector and medical aids will be highly advantageous for this role!
 
Our client based in Fish Hoek requires a confident candidate with minimum five years’ experience to take responsibility for monitoring, maintaining and accurate administration of debtors of their various allocated business units

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 certificates
• 5 years' experience in an administrative role working with finance and debtor’s control
• Experience in the Medical Industry, and working with medical aids would be highly advantageous
• Capable of recognising the need for action, considering possible risks and taking responsibility for results
• Capable of making decisions timeously and taking responsibility for the consequences
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Computer Literate

• Handling patient and medical scheme enquiries in a professional and timely manner
• Transfer unpaid medical scheme balances to patient liable and insert comments
• General management and administration pertaining to outstanding debt
• Ensure debtor days are in line with company targets
• Daily monitoring of collections
• Generate reports, interpret data and action accordingly
• Notify management of high-risk debt identified
• Prepare and submit journals, when relevant, for authorisation
• Ensure timeous processing of authorised journals
• Update daily reconciliations
• E-mail on a monthly basis report to finance
• Follow up on pending claims not submitted to Medical Aid
• Identify possible high-risk accounts to be handed over
• Print and follow up on unallocated payments
• Manage and attend to all rejections on remittance advices from third parties i.e., medical schemes.
• Manage private accounts by printing a daily age analysis report.
• On a monthly basis identify small balance write offs and other uncollectable/high risk debt to be written off
• Handle queries relating to accounts outstanding
• Ensure formal payment arrangements are in place
• Follow up on payment arrangements
• Print and mail monthly statements.
• Compliance to Company Policy & Procedure
• Adherence to the CSA (controlled self-assessment) audit standards
• Manage compliance to repeat audit findings
• Communication regarding changes relating to policies and general debt management.
