Background

Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited ("WHC") is a wholly-owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences. WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives. In addition, WHC offers a range of products and services to the Academics conducting these activities in order to assist with the management thereof.

Main purpose of the job

• To provide holistic care to patients at Soweto Comprehensive Care Centre

• Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital

Key performance areas

• Display serious concern for the safety and well-being of patients and colleagues
• Function and operate strategically with sound clinical, scientific and business acumen
• Provide holistic care to patients at Soweto Comprehensive Care Centre
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, management, clinicians and sponsors/funders
• Complete accurate and comprehensive medical records

Required minimum education and training

• MBBCH degree or equivalent
• Good Clinical practices and Project management training would be advantageous

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities

• Compassion, confidentially, tact and discretion must always be maintained
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, management, clinical
• Ability to exercise independent decision-making
• Attention to detail
• Ordered and systematic in approach to tasks
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills
• Self-motivated with high regard for work ethic, values and integrity

Required minimum work experience

• Minimum of 1year experience in post community service
