A Medical Officer (Doctor) 3 Years Fixed Term Contract vacancy is available at our Client, Wits Health Consortium in Soweto, Johannesburg - Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:

Background

Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited ("WHC") is a wholly-owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences. WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives. In addition, WHC offers a range of products and services to the Academics conducting these activities in order to assist with the management thereof.

Main purpose of the job

To provide holistic care to patients at Soweto Comprehensive Care Centre

Key performance areas

Display serious concern for the safety and well-being of patients and colleagues
Function and operate strategically with sound clinical, scientific and business acumen
Provide holistic care to patients at Soweto Comprehensive Care Centre
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, management, clinicians and sponsors/funders
Complete accurate and comprehensive medical records

Required minimum education and training

MBBCH degree or equivalent
Good Clinical practices and Project management training would be advantageous

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities

Compassion, confidentially, tact and discretion must always be maintained
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, management, clinical
Ability to exercise independent decision-making
Attention to detail
Ordered and systematic in approach to tasks
Exceptional planning and organizational skills
Self-motivated with high regard for work ethic, values and integrity

Required minimum work experience

Minimum of 1year experience in post community service
