Medical Officer (Investigator of Record), 3 year contract

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Medical Officer (Investigator of Record) for a 3-year contract role based in East London, Eastern Cape.

POSITION INFO:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
 

• MBChB and HPCSA registered as a medical practitioner (independent practice)
• Valid BLS and Good Clinical Practice certificate
• 3 or more years’ experience in a clinical research environment
• Proven experience as a Principal Investigator / Investigator of Record for at least 1 clinical trial that was successfully started and fully enrolled
• Valid ACLS certificate advantageous
• Clinic knowledge and able to lead / manage a team
• Valid drivers and good computer skills
• Able to complete study documentation legibly

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Site investigator of record (IoR)
• Clinical procedures – check blood results, complete prescriptions, monitor examinations undertaken
• Protocol specific procedures – ensure adherence to SAHPRA, recruitment / screen / enroll participants, ensure informed consent obtained
• Clinical trial project management
• Managing data integrity and patient safety
• Document all procedures / investigations and attend meetings
• Ability to conduct pelvic examinations
