Job Title: Medical Receptionist

Position Overview:

Our client, a well-established and reputable General Practitioner based in Pretoria East, is looking to appoint a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join their dedicated team. This full-day role is ideal for a candidate with experience in medical administration and a strong passion for delivering excellent patient service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer and manage calls via the practice switchboard professionally.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments using Elixir Live, including coordinating external referrals.
• Monitor and respond to emails received via the practice’s administrative email account.
• Send appointment reminders (calls and SMS) to patients.
• Greet patients warmly and collect personal and medical information.
• Process payments and issue receipts electronically.
• Maintain both electronic and physical filing systems.
• Coordinate and manage medical aid authorisations.
• Complete and submit PMB application forms and other relevant medical aid documentation.
• Perform general administrative and reception duties as required by the employer.

• Non-smoker.

Requirements:

• Matric certificate (Grade 12).
• Previous experience working in a medical practice.
• Experience in debtors accounts/medical billing (follow up on outstanding accounts and co-payments)
• Proficiency in Elixir Live software (Essential)
• Fluent in at least two languages (bilingual).
• Tertiary education in a related field will be advantageous but is not mandatory.

Working Hours:

• Monday – Friday: 08H00 – 17H00

Remuneration

• R 13 000.00 – R 15 000.00 CTC per month – depending on experience.
