Medical Receptionist Northern Suburbs, Cape Town | Start Date: URGENT - 2026 start Are you a naturally organised, service-orientated individual who takes pride in creating a welcoming and professional experience for patients? An established Specialist is preparing to join the family-run practice within Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs and is looking to appoint a capable, personable Medical Receptionist who will join the team and will play an integral role in the smooth day-to-day running of the front of house and support the day to day running of the practice. This is an opportunity for someone who is not simply looking to manage a reception desk, but who can take ownership of the administrative and patient-facing aspects of the practice, ensuring that everything runs efficiently and that patients feel welcomed, valued and well looked after. The ideal candidate will bring: Previous experience in an administrative capacity within a medical practice or a similar healthcare environment. A strong level of computer literacy, with experience in an electronic or paperless practice environment being a distinct advantage. A Matric certificate - this is an essential requirement. An excellent command of both English and Afrikaans (fluency in both) is a non-negotiable requirement. A mature, conservative and considered and professional approach. A warm, accommodating and service-driven personality, with a genuine appreciation for patient care. Resilient nature and accustomed to having worked within a practice dealing with patients who are critically ill. Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours if required to do so. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage appointments, patient enquiries, administrative processes and daily workflow efficiently. The ability to remain calm, composed and professional while managing competing priorities and ensuring a seamless patient journey. A valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport would be preferred. We are looking for someone who understands that the patient experience begins long before a consultation and continues well beyond it. You will be the welcoming face and organisational backbone of the practice - someone who anticipates needs, takes ownership, communicates confidently and ensures that both patients and the Specialist are well supported. If you are a polished, capable and personable individual who enjoys working with people and thrives in a well-organised, technology-enabled environment, we would love to hear from you.
