Medical Secretary/Remote Support to Psychiatrist

SUMMARY:
Fantastic opportunity to provide remote support within a progressive, tech savvy team, to a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist based in Europe.  You will have exceptional attention to detail and enjoy operating within a context that requires very strong accuracy and process orientation.

POSITION INFO:

1. Diary Management -Schedule and coordinate appointments
2. Maintaining the patient records
3. Upload patient notes and communication and reports onto their electronic record.
4. Ensure information on the record and consent forms are up to date and accurate and complete
5. Managing referral streams
6. GP Letters, referrals to other specialists, Reports/motivations to Medical Insurances
7. Patient Liaison

•     Completion of forms as required
•     Drafting and formatting letters and reports

1. Coordination of communication to patients in crisis (Supporting consultant as required to manage associated risk)
2. Facilitating and preparing prescriptions for the consultant and the patient
3. Sending medication handouts and dosage instructions for medication.
4. Facilitating assessment processes. (Quotes, initiation, appointments, reports)
5. Maintain total confidentiality of personal and financial data
6. Uphold data protection principles
7. Help out with reception telephones at times when the receptionist/ information desk is not available
8. Help out with typing at times when the typist is not available
9. Other administrative tasks as may be required from time to time

• Grade 12 a pre-requisite, further tertiary training preferred
• Tech savvy and able to confidently navigate systems (good MS Office, and preferably exposure to medical systems)
• Previous proven experience as a Secretary/Administrator or PA within a medical environment is a pre-requisite
• Ability to converse in both English and Afrikaans
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Mature demeanour
• Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written
• Accustomed to operating in a digital/paperless context
• Ability to operate in a remote/hybrid environment
