SUMMARY:
My client is seeking an M&A Attorney with 1 - 3 years experience in mergers and acquisitions and or corporate law.

POSITION INFO:

1 – 3 years’ experience in M&A and/or corporate law
Equipped to handle high pressure environment
Experience in mergers and acquisitions, commercial law, including corporate compliance, corporate structures and negotiating and drafting commercial agreements, who wants to branch out into tax law.

Duties / Requirements:

1 – 3 years’ experience in M&A and/or corporate law
Contract drafting and analysing terms of agreements.
Drafting technical opinions.
Sound judgment and outstanding analytical and contractual skills.
Excellent communication skills, initiative and confidence.
Ability to provide practical legal advice and risk assessment
Ability to work to tight and/or conflicting deadlines
Invoicing clients and tracking billables.
Miscellaneous assistance to Line Manager/Partner

Attending to client specific matters which include, but are not limited to the following:

Drafting legal opinions;
Representing client in SARS dispute resolution – objections, appeals etc.;
Applying for Rulings;
Corresponding with SARS on a regular basis;
Preparing and submitting Voluntary Disclosure Applications;
Research on various aspects of tax law;
Proposing tax efficient corporate structures;
Trust tax advisory;
Expatriate tax advisory;
Drafting contracts with tax principles in mind;
General tax advice;
Assisting group employees with legal/tax law research; and
Reviewing opinions and articles drafted by internal staff/attorneys.
