SUMMARY:
Microbiologist – Quality - Killarney Gardens

POSITION INFO:

Main purpose of the job:

• To accurately and timeously perform all routine microbiological tests on incoming raw materials, in-process samples and final products.
• To accurately and timeously conduct environmental sampling in the factory environment and on factory equipment used.

Preferred Requirements:

• Matric (Gr. 12)
• BSc Chemistry or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Food Science or ND in Food Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Candidate should have prior Experience in Aseptic Sampling Method, Microbiological Analysis.

Knowledge:

• ISO, HACCP, GMP, Food Technology.
• World class manufacturing and quality practices and models.
• Specific product and process knowledge.
• Testing methods and tools used in micro testing.
• Problem solving tools
• Audit practices and principals
• Knowledge of SANAS Practice & Principles.
• Maintaining occupational health, safety and environmental legislation relevant to the food manufacturing industry
• Problem solving techniques
• Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures in the food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of the effect of micro orginisms on personal health, hygiene and food safety
• Monitor quality control practice in a food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of aseptic sampling methods
