SUMMARY:
We are looking for a talented Mid-Level PHP Back-End Developer to join a global information and insights company that delivers advanced data-driven solutions to clients worldwide. This role is 100% remote within South Africa, offering the opportunity to contribute to high-impact financial and data-focused platforms from anywhere in the country.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

3+ years in PHP backend development with a solid foundation in OOP and MVC principles
Strong exposure to Laravel (or another leading PHP framework)
Confident working with relational databases like MySQL — performance tuning and schema design included
Comfortable with Git, API integrations (REST/JSON/XML), and writing clean, testable code
Experience in a remote-first environment, collaborating effectively with distributed teams
Advantageous experience: Redis/RabbitMQ, Docker, and basic frontend familiarity (e.g., Vue.js/React)
Understanding of CI/CD processes and deployments
Bonus: Exposure to secure data handling or financial API integrations

What You’ll Do:

Build and enhance scalable backend systems and services in PHP
Develop and integrate APIs that support financial data workflows
Partner closely with product and engineering teams to deliver new features
Maintain databases to ensure performance, reliability, and data integrity
Contribute to test coverage, automation, and quality improvements
Help drive platform modernisation and deployment efficiency
Support investigation and resolution of backend-related issues
