POSITION INFO:
Leading mining equipment company based in Witbank are looking for a qualified Red Seal Millwright to join their team.
Installs, maintains, dismantles, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment to ensIre maximum uptime in production environments.
Able to read blueprints, align complex machinery, troubleshoot mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and perform welding.
Key duties include preventative maintenance, rigging, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations (e.g., OHSA).
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Installation & Assembly: Assemble, install, and align new machinery using precision tools (micrometers, plumb bobs, laser alignment).
- Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance, including lubrication, parts replacement, and cleaning to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and sometimes electrical faults, repairing or replacing defective parts.
- Fabrication: Weld and fabricate machine components as needed using MIG/TIG/brazing techniques.
- Rigging: Move, lift, and position heavy machinery using hoists, cranes, and forklifts.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory of spare parts.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and environmental regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certification: Recognized Millwright Trade Qualification
- Experience: Usually 3–5+ yearce in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- System Knowledge: Proficiency with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyor systems, motors, and gearboxes.
- Physical Ability: Ability to work at heights, in tight spaces, and lift heavy equipment.
- Asset Skills: PLC troubleshooting, Electrical maintenance experience (e.g., 220V/380V), and CNC knowledge.
