Millwright (Cape Town)

SUMMARY:
We have a position available for a trade tested millwright who will be based in Cape Town.

ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Nationality:
Essential: South African citizen
 
Qualifications:
Essential: Certified trade tested electrician and fitter (millwright)
 
Experience:
Essential: 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferable: 4 years chemical processing plant experience.
 
Roles & Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, or replace electrical control, equipment, wiring, fixtures, and lighting systems in the plant.
• Good understanding and experience of pumps, gas compressor, heat exchangers, cooling towers, types of gaskets, types of valves and other relevant site assets.
• Perform general maintenance in the workshop such as rebuild and repair for preparation of spare equipment.
• Perform root cause analysis on repeat failures and participate in facilitated failure modes and effects analysis [FMEA] and RCM exercises.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and complete testing devices.
• Fault finding in MCC Cubicles and PLC Panels.
• Strict understanding and adherence to relevant HSE requirements prior to and during operations (LMRA permit to work/lockout process).
• Expert use of selection, tool inspection & care on complex tool operations.
• Expert knowledge of relevant trade nomenclature, applicable technical standards, and equipment tolerances.
• Comprehend and adhere to the standard operating procedure and quality.
• Comprehend and execute a work instruction unsupervised.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks from schedules, completed the job cards and sign off the relevant documentation and task.
• Create breakdown maintenance job cards and sign off completion.
• Adapt planning and schedule to prioritise processing plant break down when the need arises.
• Understand the systems for requisitioning of spare parts and consumables required.
• Do housekeeping at work area and workshop before and after working.
