MINE MANAGER 

The candidate must possess the following skills, qualifications and attributes to be successful in the role 

Minimum qualifications and requirements:

• Grade 12 is essential 
• Valid Blasting certificate is essential 
• B degree/NHD in Mining Engineering is essential 
• Valid Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency 
• Valid Mine Managers Certificate of Competency 
• 3 - 5 years working exposure as a Mine Overseer is essential 
• At least 3 years working exposure as an appointed Mine Manager is essential
• Medically fit in order to obtain a medical certificate 
• Strategic thinking and planning skills are essential 
• General Management skills 
• Conflict handling skills 
• Negotiation skills 
•  Computer literacy (MS Office) is essential 
• 3 year''s working exposure in a project environment would be considered an advantage 

Duties and responsibilities 

• Ensure production targets and profit margins are achieved cost-effectively and safely on a sustainable basis for the shaft/business unit 
• Implement and maintain sound people management and development practices to ensure a productive workforce 
• Develop and execute the strategic vision/plan for a shaft(s) and directly assist the GM in the tactical management process via transformational/effective leadership 
• Act as the custodian for innovation, technology and best practice at shaft level 
• Ensure environmental and social concerns are managed as a strategic focus area at shaft level 
• Ensure effective asset management processes are implemented and adhered to 

Preference would be given to Female Candidates and HDSA candidates
