Mine Manager - Conventional Mining

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Mining Industry, has an opportunity available for a Mine Manager - Conventional Mining in the Rustenburg area.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• NQF 7 (Bachelor''s Degree or Advanced Diploma) in mining
• Mine Managers Certificate of Competence
• Mine Overseer Certificate of Competence
• Business qualification will be advantage
• Relevant Computer skills (MS Office& SAP)
• In depth knowledge of conventional mining methods, best practises, principles and associated technologies
• Knowledge of Mine planning, layouts and design as well as applicable technical services rendered within the mining industry
• Able to perform statistical services functions I.e. survey, geology, sampling etc.
  Able to liaise with various stakeholders across the business value chain and industry 
• Ability to set a budget and conduct planning in line with LOBP (Life of Business Plan)
• Working knowledge of applicable legislation, standards and statutory requirements
• At least 3 years'' experience as a Mine Overseer (inclusive of excellent safety and production results)
• Acting exposure as a Mine Overseer will be an advantage
• Platinum mining experience will be advantage

• Interpret operational and mining risks to ensure the development and management of a risk management plan to minimize identifiable risk to an operation
• Implement safety and health systems and ensure operational compliance in accordance with
• the MHSA as per legal appointment
• Develop and review plans and systems (both technical and management) to achieve and improve mining KPl''s  
• Review and regulate the commitment of resources within the mining areas to optimise the efficiency of operations and achievement of overall objectives
• Evaluate and approve short, medium and long term planning (life of mine of the mining areas according to sound mining practice and organisational objectives)
• Ore reserve management- effective extraction and maximization of ore output
• Review and approve labour plans around operational targets
• Manage and control human resources
• Control expenditure according to the budget
• Allocate and monitor the utilization of financial resources according to objectives
