SUMMARY:
Australia - In working for an international, well established mining group, one will be responsible for providing and overseeing the operations and exploration of the mine, as well business development teams, through offering one’s sound technical expertise

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Mining Engineering Degree
• Must have more than 15 years’ experience in the mining industry (gold mining – opencast & underground)
• More than 5 years’ experience in managing mine engineering teams
• More than 8 years’ experience in onsite positions
• Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of open cast and underground mining methods
• Experience with Mine Planning software

Job Description

• Developing mining strategies and planning options that support the achievement of business plans
• Analysing and developing solutions to long-term business risks relating to the ore body, predicts potential scenarios, that will mitigate adverse impacts on the business by quantifying impacts of risks, minimizing business risks and ensuring impact mitigation scenarios are viable and realistic
• Driving and contributing towards safety, profitable and cost-effective mining of mineral reserves and new development thereof, ensuring safe working conditions
• Obtaining relevant information and innovative application of financial and business principles with analysis of potential implications of alternative options.
• Sharing best practices and driving continuous improvement for mining engineering.
• Providing mine engineering support to site General Managers and operational managers as directed.
• Developing, implementing and monitoring Mine Planning policies, systems, and procedures to achieve full compliance of Strategic and Operational plans
• Ensuring spatial reconciliation of business plans against actual
• Designing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive database and effective, focused management information and reporting systems
• Supporting the development of talent pools identifying relevant learning opportunities, training with succession and career management plans being implemented
• Providing technical support to the exploration and business development teams.
• Maintaining oversight on each asset''s Life of Mine Plan ensuring the pipeline of organic opportunities is being developed and moved through into execution in alignment with corporate strategic objectives.
• Managing outputs and development of the Department and all Team Members.
