POSITION INFO:
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting directly to Production Manager, the incumbent is responsible
to manage the supply of the necessary quantity of ore at the right quality and quantity as per Life of Mine requirements To manage the mining
operations to ensure that business objectives are met consistently
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Blasting certificate of competence
•
B Science Honours Degree Mining
Engineering Open Pit Mining
•
Drivers License
•
6 years Open Pit Mining experience
•
2 years experience at a middle
management level
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Plan and manage to ensure
production efficiency

Identify industry best practices in Open Pit mining techniques and operational efficiencies.

- Drivers License
- 6 years Open Pit Mining experience
- 2 years experience at a middle management level
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Plan and manage to ensure production efficiency
- Identify industry best practices in Open Pit mining techniques and operational efficiencies.
- Benchmark established plan against best practices applicable to the environment.
Implement efficiency control measures
- Draw up the annual mining productivity measurements (Tons/labour availability, $/ton value, diesel consumption, powder factor, drill bit performance, tyre wear).
- Monitor the productivity measurements on a weekly and monthly basis and report achievements/defects accordingly.
- Set up and implement a short term mine plan
- Create and implement a short term mining planning system.
- Co-ordinate operational activities towards achieving the short term plan.
Ensure Risk / Legal Compliance
- Keep up to date on relevant SHEQ matters and legislation.
- Promote and manage SHEQ policies, procedures, objectives and targets.
- Draw up and control section budgets
- Draw up annual financial requirements of Section.
- Prepare and submit annual budget for approval.
