SUMMARY:
MySQL Developer

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities

Support developers in writing queries with performance in mind
Identify opportunities for improved performance in SQL operations and implementations
Provide support for production, QA, training, demo and development environments
Design, implement, test, and monitor disaster recovery plans as it pertains to the production database environment
Identify bottlenecks in database performance
Tuning database and SQL queries
Ensure availability, reliability and security of the database in production and staging environments
Ensure data integrity and the detection of data errors using Enterprise monitor
Perform capacity planning for database growth
Develop diagrams for data structure entity relationships and data flows
Monthly performance reports
Collaborate with application developers to assess system performance and make modifications as required

Required Knowledge, Qualities and Experience:

At least 5 years of directly related work experience working with MySQL Enterprise
Demonstrated experience configuring, maintaining, monitoring, overseeing and troubleshooting MySQL version 8 database servers running on Linux in a production environment
ELT best practices
Source control - GIT
Strong documentation writing skills
Strong attention to detail
Analytical

Salary - R500 - R-----p.a. CTC
