Our client is a fast growing school payments fintech business on a mission to make school payments quick and simple for both schools and parents of learners. Hundreds of schools are using their technology across South Africa. By joining our client, you will have the opportunity to be a part of their rapidly growing and proudly South African Fintech team. Join our client and play a pivotal role in bringing accelerated adoption of their technology to schools in South Africa. As part of their leadership team they will look to you to grow their footprint within their target market throughout South Africa. This requires the constant developing and deepening of positive business and customer relationships with schools

You would need to have Business Development/Sales experience at a national management level, preferably in the education or fintech industry.

This role will involve lots of travel and meetings with schools nationally. Motivating a sales force and getting schools to take on a new system can be a challenging but hugely rewarding process. Buy-in has to come from multiple stakeholders. Working at our client is exciting and they are breaking new ground in the education technology industry. As the Business Development Manager for South Africa you will manage a business development team and have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the company’s growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Growing topline revenue with profit maximisation
  • Identifying, developing and harnessing new clients and ideas, aligned to company goals
  • Managing a sales force nationally
  • Customer contract management from engagement to annual renewal, to exit stage (if required)
  • Responsibility for the budget forecast and delivery against this budget
  • Contributing to short-term and long-term planning to support strategic business goals
  • Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of key metrics against targets
  • Monitoring of competitors
  • Participating in the planning and execution of marketing and advertising activities
  • Working within the company’s CRM system, to manage and track the sales pipeline
  • National travel and face to face meetings with schools are a key part of this role
  • Providing training at regular intervals
  • Presenting at conferences, school board meetings and the like

  • A sales and customer service mindset - you have a strong desire to draw out feedback from the company’s clients and can present creative ways of solving real problems confronting schools

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Tertiary education essential
  • A seasoned B2B and B2C Sales Manager with account management experience
  • Experience in managing remote teams
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Experience in writing a BRS (Business Requirement Specification)
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Ability to draw insights and translate into actionable tactics
