3 year contract Duration of the project (October ’22 –September ’25)

Our client an independent trust whose purpose is to make financial markets work for the poor is looking for the services of a New Business Development Manager who will engage key stakeholders at national, provincial, district and local levels in order to identify new opportunities (as well as leverage existing ones) to link grant beneficiaries to employment and/or entrepreneurship opportunities.

The objective of this role is to

Raise returns and efficiency from social protection thereby supporting digital channel usage within communities and deepening the level of financial inclusion in the SA
Improve the financial capability of grant recipients
Use data to understand the grant population and what is required to make an impact on their lives
Identify linkage opportunities to improve livelihoods for grant recipients at national, provincial, district and local level
Identify new linkages opportunities for grant recipients that have previously not been identified or those that are not in existence as yet
Support provincial coordinators to implement linkage opportunities at site level
Preparing presentations to be shared with key stakeholders
Concluding MoUs with stakeholders/linkages partners
Reporting on project activities as stipulated by the project team and other key stakeholders
Identify linkages strategies for each sit in three provinces, Implement plan and framework for the linkages, identify skills and resource requirements for each linkage and framework to support beneficiaries to attain those linkages and define process for measurement of success

Essential skills and qualifications

Post-graduate degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or Business Development
Knowledge on training, skills development, job placement and entrepreneurship opportunities and livelihoods promotion programs that exist in South Africa
Excellent communication in English is essential
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Excellent research and report writing skills
