SUMMARY:
A leading manufacturer specialising in Packaging requires the above to be accountable for managing sales on a national basis establishing market trends always driving to maximise profit.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Previous experience having sold Flexible Packaging or related products into the industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience within a Sales Management Role managing an External Sales Team is essential.
  • A tertiary qualification in Sales and or Marketing or related is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience having managed and built strong relationships with manufacturing food and related companies is preferred but not essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Defining sales and marketing objectives and strategies for sales territories.
  • Managing the budgeting and costs in alignment with budget targets.
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships and relationships with Customers and Distributors.
  • Maintaining maximum operational efficiency of the Sales Team to drive performance through training, mentoring, coaching, and motivating the Team.
  • Ensuring that optimum sales structures are in place and managed efficiently.
  • Integrating with other functional areas within the Business to drive optimum sales performance.
  • Driving the sales forecasting and operational planning process.
  • Obtaining market share according to the Company’s strategy.
  • Developing relationships with the Company’s Global Key Account Managers to keep abreast of trends within the markets.
  • Identifying new market requirements and business opportunities.
  • Engaging with manufacturing sites to identify trading opportunities on products not being manufactured in South Africa.
  • Drafting and managing all contracts and agreements with Customers and Distributors in alignment with the Company’s strategy.
  • Assisting Quality and Operations ensuring that the Customer complaint reporting process is adhered to.
  • Generating and presenting sales reports to Senior Management. 

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
