SUMMARY:
We require a Network Technologist / Technician to join our team in Cape Town.
POSITION INFO:
Network Technologist / Technician (WAN):
The role of the Network Technologist / Technician (WAN) encompasses the following activities:
a). Site assessments and migrations comprising of:
• Performing site surveys for the installation of WAN Services;
• Planning WAN 1 migrations after Layer 3 Completion; and
• Scheduling and performing WAN migrations;
b). SITA WAN/ VPN Service management, comprising of:
• Process WAN service applications and submit to SITA:
• Managing SITA service delivery on WAN Service applications; and
• Reporting weekly / monthly on service delivery;
c). City of Cape Town WAN Service Management, comprising of:
• Managing City of Cape Town WAN outages to ensure that network services are restored as soon as possible (within SLA); and
• Reporting daily, weekly and monthly on service outages/ availability; and
d). WAN Service Operations management comprising of:
• Monitoring Network Management Service system for WAN outages;
• Investigating WAN Alerts;
• Reporting WAN outages to 3rd Party suppliers;
• Reporting on network availability;
• Performing Change Management;
• Performing Configuration Management; and
• Performing Problem Management.
Certified as A+/N+ technician or appropriate NQF level qualification; and a Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
