Our client is a market leader in logistics solutions and services in Southern Africa, bringing our customers closer to the global marketplace. We believe that excellent customer service, delivered by professionally trained staff, is the key to success in the service industry.

They are looking for a New Business Developer that will grow the company’s revenue, profitability, and trading base by achieving a Forwarding sales target.

Preference will be given to Employment Equity candidates.

Responsibilities:

Minimum 2 years as a Business Development Manager in the Freight Forwarding industry essential.
Must be able to identify potential clients and opportunities.
Responsible for signing, retaining and growing new business.
Focused sales mentality.
Individual sales approach should be aligned with the company’s sales strategy.
Achieve or exceed set out sales targets.
Management and feedback on the sales pipeline.
Negotiations on tariffs with suppliers.
Must demonstrate administrative thoroughness.
Collaborate cross-functionally with various internal departments.

Qualifications:

Matric qualification.
A postgraduate qualification will be beneficial.

Competencies:

Good interpersonal skills.
Good sales skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Building internal and external relationships is important.
Positive attitude.
Must be a self-motivator and ambitious.
Strong teammate.
Goal/Target driven.
Must be able to work under pressure.
Valid driver's license.
Proficient in English and Afrikaans.
Computer literate – Microsoft Office.

Remuneration:

Industry-related basic salary dependent on experience.
Commission on targets achieved.
Company pension fund contribution.
