Retirement Centre require a Registered Nurse to oversee a healthcare team plus provide holistic nursing services ensuring the prescribed treatment, medication and nursing regime is administered to the residents.

REQUIREMENTS
- Valid SANC qualification/certificate
- Experience working in hospitals and/or aged care facilities
- Experience overseeing a healthcare team highly advantageous
- Good compassion and highly professional relationship builder with residents
- Attend training where required
- Vaccination ESSENTIAL
DUTIES- Nursing services – attend to accurate diagnostic and maintenance medical treatment needs of the residents
- Supervising call-out services provided by nurses and doctors for emergency or medical needs of residents
- Organisation of Doctor's clinic and medical care assessing residents to be seen and preparing folders
- Supervision of the Nursing Team in conjunction with the Line Manager
- Managing attendance, overtime, duty rosters, incident reports etc.
- Management of time and attendance system extracting reports
- Staff discipline, grievances and performance appraisals in conjunction with HR Manager
- Assist Nursing Service Manager with tasks when required
- Schedule house visits for primary and post-operative care
- Ensure safe methods for dispensing medicines to residents
- Control and accurately maintain an inventory of the medical consumables to the scope of practice
- Arranging for the provision of counseling, care groups and health education required for residents
- Management and organisation of resident care carrying out required nursing procedures
- Performing dressing, vital signs, blood pressure, administering oxygen therapy etc and reporting abnormalities
- Planning of well-balanced diet, taking cognisance of allergies
- Managing complaints and incidents
- Control and maintain inventory of the medical consumables, medical stock sheets, stock control, storage and management of reports
- Continually ensure Compliance and a secure environment at all times
Salary: R20,000 - R25000 negotiable dependent on management/supervisory experience
