SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a talented Next.js Developer with experience in Tailwind CSS to join their development team. This is a fully in-office role based in Lonehill, Johannesburg, offering the opportunity to work on modern, high-performance web applications with clean, responsive, and scalable user interfaces.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web applications using Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
- Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable components and pages.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers and backend developers to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Integrate with RESTful APIs and other backend services.
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in Next.js and frontend development.
Requirements:
- 2–5 years of experience in Next.js development.
- Strong proficiency in Tailwind CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of React and Next.js principles, including hooks, context API, component lifecycle, and server-side rendering.
- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and modern state management solutions (e.g., Redux, MobX).
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or React Testing Library.
- Familiarity with Next.js features such as SSR, SSG, ISR, and API routes.
- Understanding of responsive design principles and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Experience with Vercel or other modern deployment platforms.
