POSITION INFO:

Role Summary

The Nursing Manager will be responsible for the overall clinical Nursing Management of the hospital.  This includes the co-ordination of all functions and activities related to the provision, promotion and assurance of clinical patient care, via the leadership of a multidisciplinary team in consultation with all relevant stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Coordinate the nursing activities with all hospital departments to ensure alignment to the strategy  and goals of the organization. 
• Investigate and report all incidents as per Hospital policy. 

Ensure hospital is providing safe, cost effective quality patient care in line with the Clinical Governance strategy of hospital and evidence based practice. 

• Evaluate the patient''s journey through patient experience and stakeholder input. 
• Effective management of the Nursing budget of the hospital. 
• Oversee responsibility for nursing education and training to ensure a qualified and competent nursing team. 
• Ensure best, effective clinical outcomes in terms of quality nursing care.

Requirements 

• Diploma in General Nursing/ B Cur Degree
• Current Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/ Midwife, Psychiatry, Community Health 
• Post Basic Qualification in Nursing Administratiion/ Management qualification
• Post Basic qualification in Nursing education will be advantageous 
• At least 5 years experience in a private hospital setting in a management role
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal 
• Sound financial knowledge and the ability to interpret financial data
