Oil Lab Technologist - Plant

SUMMARY:
Our client based in Kathu is seeking an Oil Lab Technologist with previous experience in a mining plant laboratory.
You will manage and analyse oil data for machinery used in the mine, providing performance insights and maintenance recomendations.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:
Degree or Diploma (min NQF6) in chemical engineering, materials science or related field.
Drivers licence

3-5 years of relevant experience in an oil laboratory and oil analysis in an operational mining environment.
Understanding various oil analysis methods, including spectrometry, viscosity measurement, and particle counting.
Knowledge of lubrication properties, types of lubricants, and their applications in machinery.
Familiarity with maintenance practices and protocols related to machinery and equipment.
In-depth knowledge of laboratory instruments used in oil analysis, including calibration procedures and maintenance standards.
Ability to interpret complex data sets and understand the implications for equipment performance and maintenance needs.
Awareness of industry regulations and standards related to oil analysis and laboratory practices (e.g., SABS).
