We are currently recruiting for an Operational Accountant to join a leading organization in the mining, engineering, or manufacturing sector. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a hardcore operational environment and has strong financial fundamentals combined with some operational exposure.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and reporting.
Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts and operational cost reports.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure accurate financial planning.
Collaborate with operational teams to optimize cost structures and improve efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, controls, and processes.
Assist with audits and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Qualification and Skills Required:

B.Com degree (completed articles preferred).
3 – 5 years’ post-article experience in a similar role.
Exposure to mining, engineering, or manufacturing environments is essential.
Strong understanding of financial fundamentals (FFF) and operational processes.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in ERP systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
