SUMMARY:
Chartered Accountant CA(SA) - Leading Insurance concern based in Johannesburg North is seeking an Operational Finance Manager to streamline their business processes and implement new systems (EE/AA)

Our client is a large concern that’s been operating in the Insurance space for over 65 years. They have a longstanding reputation and they are currently recruiting for the role of Operational Finance Manager. This role will take responsibility for the Full Finance Function, as well as Operational aspects within the company. The client is looking for someone that would be able to come into the business and help them implement, automate or improve systems and processes that would improve the efficiency of the daily reporting pertaining to Accounts Payable & Receivable, Cashbooks and more. Another key responsibility for this role will include assisting the company with the implementation of IFRS 17, thus a working knowledge of this reporting standard is crucial.

Please Note: This role is available to Chartered Accountants CA(SA) registered with SAICA.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Trial Balance & Recons
• Monthly Reporting
• Budget Planning & Forecasts
• Streamlining & Automation of Reporting Processes
• Monitoring of these processes to make recommendations and/or improvements
• IFRS Compliance & Implementation – IFRS 17
• Risk & Compliance
• Governance & Controls
• Audit Engagement
• Staff Management
• Stakeholder Engagement

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Required: Non-Negotiable

• Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant CA(SA) registered with SAICA
• 8-10 years’ post articles experience within the Financial Services and Insurance industry preferred
• Must have strong IFRS 17 experience
• Min 2 years’ staff management experience

Other:

• Strong knowledge and experience working on various reporting systems and tools
• Ideally looking for someone that is “Tech-Savvy” and has a passion for the IT and Finance integration
• Must be able to work overtime from time to time
