Our client is looking for Operations Director in Johannesburg North managing over numerous site/projects in/and surrounding provinces.

Responsibilities

• Planning, monitoring and execution of contracts to ensure that work is executed within the allowed budgets and in accordance with the contractual program.
• Management of direct costs to ensure that planned operating profits are achieved or bettered.
• Provide accurate and comprehensive data on turnover, direct costs and operating profits to incorporate in budget and business planning documents.
• To ensure that the company’s contractual position is protected in accordance with the requirements of all contracts entered into and that we secure our full contractual entitlement under these contracts.
• To ensure that due consideration is given to producing the maximum value to the main group shareholder in the execution of all contracts.
• Control and manage working capital employed in the execution of the contracts to achieve the budgeted returns
• Assess equipment requirements and motivate for new/replacement to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• To actively pursue and promote the overall culture of the company in every aspect of our business with particular emphasis on:
Excellent HSE practices – ensure that all company HSE procedures are implemented and adhered to on sites
Highest quality and environmental levels
Excellent IR practices – ensure that good Industrial Relations are maintained
Engage with organized labour and site forums.
Constant improvement
To ensure that company assets and resources are preserved and used in an optimum manner to maximize the overall benefit to the company and to identify any possible shortfalls in a timely manner where required.
To develop and maintain appropriate business relationships.
To represent the company at any appropriate Technical or Commercial Associations
Keep management fully informed of any developments which may potentially have an impact on the company as a whole or any part of the company’s activities.
To manage the development and training of staff and ensure that performance appraisals are carried out.
Ensuring the mobilization of resources required to effectively execute contracts
Provide support and mentorship to site staff.
Manage the contract controllables
To comply at all times with the duties of a Director and to ensure that all duties and responsibilities under common law as well as fiduciary and statutory duties are discharged in a satisfactory manner with the aim of maintaining the good corporate governance of the company.

Organisational Requirements
The ability to meet deadlines is an important part of this position and the job incumbent must be prepared to work extended hours where necessary to ensure these are achieved.
Be will to accept a OHS Act 16.2 appointment.
Above average working knowledge of the ISO standards, OSHAct and the Labour Relations Act
Sound knowledge of quality, environmental, risk, occupational health and safety principles
SACPCMP membership/registration or membership of a professional body
Scaffolding, Insulation and Painting experience (preferably within the PetroChem and/or Power Generation and/or Mining industry) is required.
Minimum of NQF 7 qualification is required. NACE 1 or more would be advantageous.

Experience
At least 7 years successful experience on large infrastructure projects and or maintenance contracts
