SUMMARY:
Our client a leader in the global logistics industry is looking to engage the services of an experienced Operations Manager to oversee their Air and Ocean Freight Import and Export Operations.

POSITION INFO:

Area: Durban

Key Performance Areas:

Working closely with the management team
Managing and processing all Import and Export jobs from start to finish
Work closely with the operations teams to maintain the highest operational performance
Develop and build relationships with key clients to the organisation
Ensure all consignments are loaded onto systems prior to arrival/departure
Maintain relationships with overseas partners
Provide Transport Companies with all the relevant information to ensure customer requirements are met.
Work with the Sales and Operations teams to continually improve processes and business performance
Assist with the development and implementation of effective operational systems relevant to maintaining accreditation.
Ensure effective month end procedures are in place
Ensuring company policies and procedures are complied with.
Ensure that legislative requirements are fully understood
Achieve operational objectives by making recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
Prepare and complete action plans and reviews, resolve problems and identify trends.
Work with the management team to continuously streamline the operations

Job Requirements and Required Skills:

Ocean freight Knowledge on both Import & Export
Able to implement and manage systems
Airfreight Knowledge on both Imports & Exports
Excellent communication skills
Able to work and meet deadlines
A pro-active attitude
Excellent customer service skills
Possess team player qualities
Possess good leadership skills
Computer literate
