Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
BSc degree in Wood Science and Forestry or equivalent and at least 15 years’ demonstrated/proven experience at managerial level. Strong leadership, above-average computer and interpersonal/teambuilding skills are essential.

POSITION INFO:

1. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of both Sawmill and Forestry operations in his/her business region. This will entail, amongst others, managing the forest responsibilities and that of sawmilling / processing in order to ensure that the highest returns on these business assets are achieved. The incumbent will also be required to optimize profitability and return on investment by achieving planned production targets through effective and optimum utilization of plant and other related resources. The ideal candidate must be in possession of a BSc degree in Wood Science and Forestry or equivalent and at least 15 years’ demonstrated/proven experience at managerial level. Strong leadership, above-average computer and interpersonal/teambuilding skills are essential. Specific focus area will be the Weza and Optimizing Drymill, as well as improving stumpage within the plantation. Incumbent will be required to exhibit a strong safety knowledge and background.
