Join a progressive an expanding Packaging and labelling company to champion all aspects of their fast paced plant

POSITION INFO:

Our client, a stable, established and progressive packaging manufacturing company, seeks to employ a skilled, qualified and experienced candidate, for a Operations Manager role, at their fast paced plant in Durban

The requirement to understand the packaging and labelling related industry is essential and senior management experience, within this sector, at operational level is essential. You will be a proven champion of all aspects of managing a successful and profitable plant

You will have a Business, Packaging, Engineering or Operations Management degree , coupled with 10 - 15 years’ experience managing a profitable and efficient packaging or digital/flexographic print manufacturing operation.
Experience in Six Sigma (certification required), as well as GMP and Lean Manufacturing Principles is a must
You must have high level of accuracy, working experience in managing budgets, financial statements and progressive planning to ensure the business unit meets KPI’s and international targets.
You will have proven experience in the effective management, development and morale building of staff, coupled with the ability to carry and instil corporate values amongst the staff and with customer interaction
You must have sound technical knowledge and the ability to ensure continuous improvement of processes and systems, as well as ensuring a high level of quality
You must have a solid track record in operations management, dealing with customers, as well as being a team player, contributing to the company’s cross-functional teams, devising strategic plans for improvement and optimising the production process.
You will have good written and communication skills in English, have advanced MS Office skills and ERP experience in Prism or Radius would be highly advantageous.
You will have contactable references; a clear criminal and credit record and it is to be noted that all qualifications and career history will be verified.
