Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Logistics industry has an EE opportunity available for an Operations Manager in the Richards Bay area.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

• Minimum Matric/Grade 12
• Tertiary qualification, or studying towards a tertiary qualification in a Logistics/ Shipping or related field
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Minimum 5 years’ proven operational management/ supervisory experience within a Logistics/ Warehouse/ Shipping company
• Proven financial and administrative experience
• Sound knowledge of relevant quality working standards and safe working procedures as well as the requirements of the Health and Safety legislation (OHS Act/ ISO standards)
• Sound Industrial Relations knowledge, in respect of managing labour/ union issues
• Superior level of English Literacy & Numeracy essential
• Ability to communicate effectively in English is essential. The ability to communicate in Zulu would be advantageous
• Valid Code 08 Drivers Licence

• Manage the warehouse with multiple staff, multiple customers and diverse machinery, equipment
• Plan and manage the effective utilization of staff and equipment/machinery and ensure the effective stacking/ stowing of cargo in the warehouse and storage areas
• Financial administration – compiling forecasts, monthly reports, annual budgets for the facility
• Ensures client standards are maintained within the parameters of the contract and/ or warehousing best practices
