Operations Manager

You will display strong leadership skills, business at an operational level, and an ability to effectively manage, lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team. Ability to think strategically, be open to new ideas, manage innovation and have a proven ability to achieve targets within required timeframes.

Qualifications, Experience:

• BTech. or BSc. in Engineering essential
• Preferable: MBA or Commerce/business qualification
• Over 10 years of post-graduation experience is preferable
• Demonstrated experience in a senior role in Operations management
• Petrol/Oil/Gas/Chemcial industry sector experience
• Working knowledge of financial management including Income Statements, Balance sheets & Cash flow statements.
• Excellent working knowledge of SA OHSACT
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Own reliable transport

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Branch operations strategic plan
• Branch administration
• Supply chain management of stock and finished product availability
• Quality & Environmental management systems are upheld, and ISO certifications retained
• As the appointed Environmental manager, responsible for ensuring all environmental regulations are complied with
• As the OHS Act 16(2) appointee, responsible for health and safety within the branch
• Financial management: ability to set operating budgets, control operations in line with budgets, and understand the drivers behind the cost of sales and margin.
• Able to evaluate and justify economically feasible spending against IRR and NPV
• Provide effective line management
