Operations /Production Manager - Labelling

SUMMARY:
A leading global Label Printing Solutions Company requires the above to strategically manage and oversee and lead the operations functions and portfolio driving the Company’s initiatives in operations to help their Customers build their brands.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• A tertiary qualification in either Operations Management or Engineering or Packaging or a Business or related qual is preferred.
• Previous experience having worked as an Operations and or Production Manager within the Labelling, Food, Plastics or related manufacturing industries is essential.
• Previous label printing production experience is preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience having worked in an ISO 22 000/ BRC accredited environment is preferred.
• Previous demonstrated knowledge and understanding the concept and use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is preferred as implementation is critical in this role.
• The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
• The successful candidate must be proficient in managing and facilitating teams through problem solving and conflict resolutions.
• Previous experience having worked with manufacturing safety programs is essential.
• The successful candidate must have working knowledge of budgets and financial statements as well as experience leading projects, delegating, and seeing problems through to resolution.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Driving and managing increased product income at reduced costs. 
• Ensuring all operations comply with OSHA standards including alignment to the Company’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy as well as accreditation requirements.
• Promoting continuous improvement principles and analytical problem-solving techniques.
• Assisting with fault identification and fixing of root cause and ensuring the accurate completion of production logs and job cards.
• Maintaining and improving product income levels through waste reduction, cost reduction, and cost improvement plans.
• Evaluating performance against plans and deciding on corrective action to enhance the Unit’s performance.
• Establishing and achieving the approved budget of the plant, including developing and providing justification for the capital expenditures budget of the plant.
• Establishing, monitoring and achieving plant operating metrics and expense budget as well as monitoring annual goals and objectives for the plant, driving accountability throughout the departments.
• Supporting a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement, driving improvements in operations.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
