SUMMARY:
Optical Network Senior Engineer position available for a telecommunications company based on Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the position:	The Senior Engineer is responsible for optical network products. Maintenance in the field of DWDM / MSTP product in South Africa. Support the customer in all technical aspects and improve the relationship to the customers.
NOTE: Own transport and valid Driver’s License essential
Qualifications, experience and knowledge:	The successful applicant must have the following qualification, experience and knowledge
	Bachelor degree or above. Specialization in Electronics Science, Telecommunications or Information Technology Must have working experience in engineering or technical support in telecommunication industry and optical network Related qualifications: HCIE, HCIP, HCIA, CCIE Good understanding of Telecommunication network architecture from terminal to internet Goo knowledge and troubleshooting experience of WDM, OTN and SDH technology Strong hands-on skills with extensive experience in the troubleshooting and solving optical network related issues Have Datacom basic knowledge, such as Ethernet and IP Good service spirit and strong communication ability Good team work and fluent English

Main Tasks and Responsibilities for this Position	The successful applicant will be responsible for, Among others, the following functions:
	Level 1 / Level 2 technical support service to the customers independently or joint with remote technical support team Handle customer service request, get customer voice, track and close the requirement in time Precaution check, software / hardware rectification and software update / upgrade Perform troubleshooting and emergency recovery to support the operations and customer support teams
