SUMMARY:
Oracle Developer (24 Months Contract)

POSITION INFO:

PURPOSE:
To create, modify, maintain and test the codes, scripts and forms that allows the system to run efficiently.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The key performance areas of the role will focus on, but not limited to:

• Software Engineering  

1. Create and amend programs in accordance with the design, agreed development standards and tools
2. Implement and maintain software programs
3. Prioritize and implement enhancements
4. Plan and perform various tests (integration and system testing)
5. Write clear codes and prepare coding documentations
6. Develop Oracle reports, database procedures and scripts
7. Modify existing codes to optimize Oracle applications

• Planning and analysis

1. Scheduling and prioritisation of system improvements and bug fixes
2. Liaising with functional consultants and system analysts to understand requirements.
3. Workout development approach, designs, test plans, etc.)

• Projects 

1. Actively participate in all IT projects forming part of the transformation agenda.
2. Lead the Technical stream during project implementation.
3. Ensure that project deliverables meet customer specifications

4.Support project team in developing reports, tables, fields, data interfaces and application extensions

• Testing and Documentation

1. Review technical deliverables and manage quality in order to ensure that what has been built meets user expectations.
2. Conduct own tests prior to formal tests with users.
3. Oversee user tests and record results for further enhancement.
4. Document all processes followed, e.g. system designs, test cases/procedures, change requests, etc.
