Outfitting Manufacturing Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client specializes in project support for the (petro)chemical and maritime industries. They provide personnel in the areas of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, and Safety. They are seeking an Outfitting Manufacturing Engineer to
join their team in the Netherlands.

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 1-10 years of experience in outfitting engineering or a similar role within the shipbuilding or maritime industry.
• Strong knowledge of shipbuilding processes and the integration of systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and interior furnishings.
• Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
• Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).

• Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for outfitting design and planning.
• Ability to work under pressure with strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and maintain project schedules.

• Outfitting Design and Planning: Collaborate with design teams to plan and oversee the outfitting of ship systems and components, ensuring they are installed correctly and efficiently, meeting industry standards.
• Manufacturing Process Optimization: Develop and implement processes for the efficient manufacture and installation of outfitting components, including interiors, electrical systems, HVAC, and plumbing, to meet timelines and budget.
• Quality Control and Compliance: Ensure that outfitting procedures comply with all quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols during fabrication and installation phases.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues during the outfitting process, working closely with production teams to overcome technical challenges and ensure smooth integration of systems.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Work with cross-functional teams, including naval architects, production teams, and suppliers, to ensure that all outfitting activities are properly coordinated and executed according to project specifications.
