Job Description

 

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

• Assess the contract by examining the type of project e.g. bill of quantities with fixed rates, fixed or
  provisional quantities, lump sum project etc.
• Establish systems for controlling financial aspects and maximising profit by obtaining all pre-tender information from the estimating department e.g. fixed bills, programmes, quotations, drawings etc
• Keep management informed on contractual obligations and give advice when required
• Appoint sub-contractors
• Achieve final re-measurements for the project
• Prepare and submit monthly claims for payment
• Create the objective for the project
• Prepare monthly project cost reports by reference to measurement and conversions to monetary
  value for work done, in order to advise management of their current trading situations and likely
  future prospects in terms of current contracts.
• Discuss and advise the Commercial Manager on all risk, legal and contractual matters, which may
  affect the Company.
• Establish and maintain a working environment that employs highly motivated and effective staff in
  the QS department
• Appoint subcontractors and manage subcontractor payments as per the contract

 

Qualifications

BSc/BTech/Diploma in QS''ing
