SUMMARY:
An alternative energy company that develops clean energy solutions for commercial and industrial companies in South Africa is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist, reporting to the CFO, to support the implementation of our C&I renewable energy projects. We are a performance driven culture and reward our team members. We are based in Midrand/Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements :

5-8 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management for renewable energy projects.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in purchasing, inventory, logistics and supply chain management (including deliveries of goods, planning and scheduling).
Knowledge of FIDIC/JBCC/NEC contracts (an advantage).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential responsibilities:

Procurement:
Manage the company’s procurement activities for pre-sales and projects in construction of major equipment: modules, inverters, batteries and structures.
Oversee the purchase of goods, materials, components or services within specified budgets, quality requirements and targets.
Manage key supplier relationships and framework agreements.
Reduce project costs through scheduling procurement and negotiating commercial terms with key suppliers.
Evaluate quotations and RFPs issued by the company to suppliers.

Design and Costing:
Work closely with the engineering team to optimise the materials and equipment options available to the design team, considering cost, availability and the requirements of a project.
Knowledge of market trends to evaluate what equipment and components may be relevant for specific projects.

Logistics
Manage and oversee logistics and timeous delivery of equipment and components for multiple projects which may be constructed simultaneously.
Work closely with the engineering, project and construction teams on site re delivery of equipment.
