Production Manager with fresh food processing experience - Clanwilliam - R31 000 to R49 0000 per month Cost to Company

Food processing and p[packaging plants that supply Woolworth, Pick and Pay, Checkers, etc seek a Production Manager to manage production and also lease with customers

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily Production
  • Stock Taking
  • Production Planning
  • Orders and Delivery Accuracy
  • Management of all inputs
    • Labour (+- 150 staff)
      • Weekly signing off of wages
      • Weekly productivity analysis
      • Weekly recon of product packed
      • Recovery/productivity analysis for calculating rates
      • Staff discipline – personal hygiene, packhouse rules
      • Staff holiday planning
      • Review of key personnel (bonus reviews)
      • Drawing up job descriptions.
• Packaging Material
  • Monthly Stocktaking and packaging material recon
  • Management of staff in the packaging material room
• Raw material
  • Bi-weekly stock taking
  • Daily recon of all purchases
  • Daily recon of all sales (market)
  • Weekly analysis
  • Maintenance
    • Servicing of all machines/equipment in the packhouse
    • Ordering parts from equipment suppliers
    • Ensuring there is stock of all key spares
    • Completing the preventative maintenance program monthly
    • Ensuring monthly cleaning of equipment that needs to be dissembled is done
    • New Product Launches
      • Understanding of all new processes required for launching a new product
      • Implementing all new processes’ during the launch
      • Security
        • Ensure that packhouse is locked every day after production
        • If late working is required ensure a responsible supervisor is present to supervise and lock
        • Organise offloading of late loads by supervisor (discuss with procurement)
        • Quality
          • Ensure all SOPs are followed
          • Understanding of product quality requirements and ensuring implementation on floor
          • Aware of all quality related concerns and actively manage production to deliver the best quality product
          • Weekly Reporting
            • Completing weekly production analysis with accurate data
            • Making plans to improve where results are not in line with expectation

Hours will be 07.00 until 18.00 with a breakfast and lunch break. It will be expected to do weekend duty once a month.
