PROJECT PLANNER (GAUTENG)

SUMMARY:
CLIENT in the CONSULTING ENGINEERING INDUSTRY requires the services of a PROJECT PLANNER at their plant in the GAUTENG AREA as soon as possible.

POSITION INFO:

AIM OF THE JOB

The Company is looking for an assertive, self-driven individual to fill this vacancy, to ensure that tender and project scheduling is
done according to the planned timeline and the related scope of work are updated on a regular basis to reflect an up-to-date status.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

 Sales and Marketing – assist with building tender programs
which aligns with the scope of work and forecasted
timelines that the sales and marketing team dictates.
 Develop detailed project baseline and fully understand
scope of work before detailed schedule is drawn up.
 Provide two weekly forecasts to project teams on all
aspects.
 Engage with project team members and ensure that teams
adhere to delivery dates. Identify shortcomings and advice
on action plants on cost-reduction.
 Provide detailed management reports to ensure full view of
the project.
 Provide reports highlighting deviations on the project plans
to avoid delays and budget overruns. Follow critical path of
 Active participation in meetings and forums. Accurate
reporting.
 Communicate and practice the principles of Customer
Service, internally and externally.
 Tertiary qualification and/or training relevant to the position.
 8 + Years Project Planning experience.
 Ability to communicate effectively with team that include but
are not limited to management, co-workers, clients,
vendors and subcontractors.
 Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the
project.
 Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and
time-effective manner.
 Computer literate in the MS Office Suite as well as MS
Projects.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Planning and organizing skills.
 Assertive and self-driven.
 Operational understanding of Primavera would be an
advantage.
