POSITION INFO:
Purpose of the Role
- Provide holistic mental health and wellness services to UFH students, contributing to their academic success, retention, and overall wellbeing.
- Supervise intern psychologists and support graduate development through training and mentorship.
Minimum Requirements - Master’s degree in counselling or clinical psychology
- 4–5 years’ experience as a registered Counselling or Clinical Psychologist
- 2+ years’ experience in higher education (Student Affairs experience is an advantage)
- Knowledge of HPCSA regulations and ethical guidelines
- Strong communication, psychotherapeutic, and crisis management skills
- Valid driver’s license
Key Responsibilities - Offer individual and group counselling and psychotherapy
- Conduct trauma debriefing and crisis interventions
- Supervise intern psychologists and their community interventions
- Deliver training for student cohorts (e.g., Wellness Leaders, Mentors)
- Monitor and evaluate programmes; submit monthly reports
- Implement mental health initiatives across multiple campuses
