SUMMARY:
Our client, a leader in maintaining and servicing predominantly heavy-duty vehicles, is seeking a Parts Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient management of vehicle parts & spares, consumables, uniforms, and tools while maintaining a safe and organized store environment.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Store Database System
- Record all day and night stock usage, as well as inter-depot transfers.
- Complete all standard order documentation.
- Reconcile the store database monthly.
- Order & Control Stock, Consumables and Uniforms
- Monitor and maintain correct stock levels (min/max).
- Place bulk monthly stock orders with main suppliers.
- Check and verify all incoming orders.
- Conduct quarterly stock checks and annual uniform orders.
- Issue spares, consumables, uniforms, and maintain first aid supplies.
- Ensure a neat, safe, and well-maintained work area.
- Control Tools & Equipment
- Manage and issue small and specialized tools as required.
Requirements:
- 2–5 years experience in parts / stock control within the motor industry, truck workshop, or dealership.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle parts, spares, consumables, and workshop stock.
- Previous exposure to inventory control systems (Kerridge/Autoline, Pinnacle, Pastel Evolution, or similar). Client uses Freeway
- Experience conducting stock counts, reconciliations, and supplier orders.
- Advantage: experience in a fleet, transport, or heavy-duty vehicle servicing environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good computer literacy - inventory systems
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and workshop best practices.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage stock levels effectively.
- People skills for issuing parts/tools to mechanics and managing uniform distribution.
- Time management and ability to work under pressure.
