Our client, a well-established automotive conglomerate based in Johannesburg East, is looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their finance team.

In this role, you will take ownership of the payroll process while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal procedures.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and managing the complexities of a full payroll function.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full payroll function, from processing through to reporting
Apply for tax directives and ensure statutory compliance
Prepare and submit statutory returns and payments
Complete IRP501 reconciliations and year-end processes using
Address and resolve staff payroll queries
Manage garnishees and maintenance orders
Administer medical aid, provident fund, and funeral fund benefits
Capture and maintain employee data, including engagements, terminations, transfers, and promotions
Reconcile medical aid, provident fund, and third-party payments
Import payroll data and investigate payroll variances
Prepare payroll files for finance and produce month-end payroll reports
Maintain accurate filing and payroll documentation

Education Requirements:

Completed Matric (Grade 12)
Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Payroll essential

Job Experience & Skills Required:

5–6 years’ experience in a Payroll Administrator role
Sage 300 experience essential
Strong understanding of statutory payroll payments and submissions
Experience with payroll accounting and reporting to finance
Highly deadline-driven with strong attention to detail
Ability to perform well in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Strong team collaboration skills
