Personal Assistant to Financial Advisor

SUMMARY:
Half day Personal Assistant position available for a well-established Financial Advisor in the long-term insurance sector is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and professional Personal Assistant to provide administrative, client service, and operational support. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the dynamics of financial planning, and can confidently manage both client-facing and back-office responsibilities

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements - Grade 12 (Matric) - Must be in possession of valid driver's license and own vehicle - 5+ years experience in the long-term insurance industry - Strong knowledge of life insurance, risk products, policy servicing, and industry compliance - Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) - High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) - Ability to work independently and handle confidential information - Strong organisational and time-management skills - Professional, client-focused attitude Key Responsibilities - Client administration - Prepare, update, and maintain client files, compliance documents, and policy schedules. - Diary & communication management - Coordinate appointments, manage emails, handle calls, and ensure efficient daily workflow. - Application processing - Capture and submit new business, follow up on underwriting, and track policy progress. - Compliance support - Ensure all documentation meets FAIS, FICA, and company standards. - Client service - Assist clients with queries, policy updates, claims follow-ups, and general support. - Office coordination - Maintain office systems, manage supplies, and support general operations. Preferred Attributes - Experience working with a Financial Advisor or brokerage - Familiarity with major insurers' systems (e.g., Liberty, Old Mutual, Momentum, Sanlam) - Ability to multitask and priorities under pressure - Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
