JOB DESCRIPTION:

PHARMACIST ASSISTANT
Minimum position requirement:

Matric/ Grade 12 with Mathematics & English
Learner Basic/ Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant
Qualified Pharmacist Assistant- advantageous
3 years Pharmaceutical Manufacturing experience

Key areas of responsibility:
Under Supervision of Pharmacist in compliance with Pharmacy Act 53 of 1974

To assist production pharmacist in executing daily production tasks in accordance with SOP compliance by ensuring that the preparation, operation, cleaning and maintenance of equipment in the Pharma manufacturing area is according to GMP, Safety and SOP Standards and documentation, in all areas of manufacturing and/or packaging process activities
Assists with or conducts shift handover with supervisors
Supporting the production plan adherence
Contingency plans for production are generated and implemented as and when required
Be accountable for shift production and translating targets into outputs
Forecast possible problem areas and non-conformances that could potentially affect production and product quality
Reporting and co-ordinating resolution of breakdowns and stoppages
Ensure timeous receipt of materials from stores
Ensure timeous receipt of QA documents
Conduct Self Inspections and finding close out
Motivate and suggest equipment and process requirements
Ensure that all activities are executed as per SOP compliance
Ensures documentation and materials are checked as per SOP
Reporting any deviations and the generation of reports and investigations
Monitors downtimes and problem solves with corrective action
Evaluates Product yields and reports deviations to Production Pharmacist
Performs calculations such as Potency Calculations, Process Step Yield, Reconciliation Calculations
Contribute to Continuous Improvement Initiatives
Generate SOP’s and impart training thereof to staff
Initiates change control documents and close off
Initiate Deviation document and close off
Initiate BMR/BPR generation and updates
