SUMMARY:
Location: Alexandershoek Piggery, Gouda Pad, Moorreesburg, Western Cape
Alexandershoek Piggery is a modern, state-of-the-art pig farming operation with a dedicated management team and a commitment to the highest standards in animal welfare and biosecurity. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Piggery Farm Manager to join our team and help drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily management of a large-scale, farrow-to-wean piggery (3,200 sows, 8,000 pigs).
Ensure strict adherence to biosecurity protocols, animal welfare standards, and all relevant agricultural regulations.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of production, health, breeding, and farm activities.
Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of farm staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Perform and oversee basic maintenance of farm equipment and facilities.
Liaise effectively with staff, management, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth farm operations.
Work weekends and flexible hours as required to meet the needs of the farm.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

Previous experience in piggery or livestock farm management.
Excellent attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills.
Basic maintenance knowledge (equipment and facilities).
Trustworthy, reliable, and committed to high standards of animal care.
Sound knowledge of biosecurity, animal welfare, and agricultural regulations.
Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
Effective communication skills.
Willingness to work weekends.
Relevant agricultural qualification or training is an advantage
