Position: Maintenance Planner
Division: Asset Management
Grade C4
The role is accountable for strategic asset life cycle planning of plant and/or mobile equipment by
using the work and shutdown management process. This includes planning and scheduling
(shutdown and maintenance activities), cost management, parts planning and consistent monitoring
of shutdowns and asset performance to continuously improve the way we work in a manner that is
aligned with the overall business and organisational goals.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Conducting risk assessments and job task analyses toward ensuring optimal equipment reliability
and plant availability.
• Analysing and interpret maintenance trends, variances, and initiate change by using data analysis
tools/processes (RCA, FMECA, 6 Sigma).
• Liaising with supervisors to identify maintenance and service needs and coordinate general
maintenance work toward ensuring production targets are met.
• Constantly lead and review the scheduling processes associated with the planner’s area of
responsibility.
• Ensuring that data and documents are effectively managed throughout the asset lifecycle and that
the most updated and complete version is stored in an accessible and secure infrastructure.
• Planning and coordinating shutdowns in the planner’s area of responsibility.
• Coach direct reports in the interrogation of databases for equipment history in order to identify
improvement opportunities.
• Maintaining and improving safety, health, environmental and quality standards and practices by
setting and monitoring objectives to ensure standards are met.
• Operating from a workstation located underground.

Qualifications & Experience:
• N3 qualified.
• Artisan with 5 Years’ experience in the maintenance function.
• Maintenance planning and scheduling experience in a heavy industrial environment.
• Advance use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Power Point, and Microsoft Project.
• Excellent understanding of SAP (MPA).
• Experience with data management.
• Knowledge of maintenance tactics.
