Planning Manager

SUMMARY:
If you have a relevant qualification with at least 5 years' FMCG, Food and/or Agri Planning, Operational and Supply Chain experience, then this is the position for you!

POSITION INFO:
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the purpose of this position is to manage and integrate the different disciplines of Sales, Operations and Procurement of all raw material and dry stock, ensuring that it is a seamless process from forecasts through procurement and production plans and that the inputs to the process are accurate and that profitability is maximized.

Requirements:
B Bus. Sc/B Com or equivalent tertiary qualification in Supply Chain
Operational / Supply Chain / Production
At least 5 years Operational Supply Chain experience
Up to 2 years FMCG / Food / Agri management experience will be an advantage
Must be competent in Statistical Demand and Forecasting techniques in Sales and Operations Planning
A background in finance or economics
Must have Project Management in Supply Chain 
Extremely good communication at all levels with Leadership skills
Lateral thinker  who is decisive
Drive for improvement and efficiency 
Good negotiation skills
Persuasive and Influential
Valid Driver''s license


Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

• Participate and influence department strategy
• Monitor and track against the plan
• Develop recommendations and subsequent action plans to enable the delivery of the departmental strategy
• Day to day interaction with team members to deliver strategy
• Build and develop effective relationships with relevant stakeholders to highlight and determine best solution to overcome challenges to continuously improve
• Contribute to deliver strategic plans with suppliers by liaising regularly on trend changes and tactical forecasting
• Ensuring procurement strategy on raw material and dry stock support forecasts
• Proactive and regular communication with key stakeholders
• Understand and optimise supply chain and systems
• Understand internal and external factors which impact on demand and ensure these are reflected in forecasts

• Communicate with internal and external stakeholder to maximise trade
• Identify challenges, trends and opportunities

• Analysis of historical and current performance

• Liaise with suppliers with regards to long term tactical plans 
• Implementation and review against long term tactical plans

• Conduct workforce planning to ensure the team is suitably staffed to meet functional objectives taking into account various internal and external factors
• Implement, drive and manage all
• people development initiatives linked to the HR Strategy including performance management, succession planning, talent management etc. to ensure the team’s performance meets the required standards
• Set medium to long term goals and objectives for the relevant area of control and monitor progress against these
• Plan, organise, lead and control subordinate''s activities to ensure functional objectives are met or exceeded
• Assure stable employee relations by managing conflict and creating a positive and performing working environment

• Actively participate in all people development initiatives linked to the HR Strategy including but not limited to: performance management; succession planning; talent management; change, process optimisation and engagement initiatives etc. to ensure the team’s performance meets the required standards
