Planning Manager - FMCG

SUMMARY:
Our Client is a leading FMCG manufacturer based in Cape Town. They are looking for an accomplished Planning Manager. The main focus of this role will be to optimise the effectiveness of the supply chain.

POSITION INFO:

PLANNING MANAGER (CAPE TOWN)

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:  

¨      Lead and develop the Planning Team

¨      Plan the purchase of direct materials, manufacture and importation of goods, and their distribution around the country to ensure sufficient opportunity for sales targets to be achieved

¨      Liaise regularly with Marketing and Sales staff to ensure that planning is in line with the latest forecasts

¨      Liaise regularly with principals to ensure that appropriate stock levels of imported brands are maintained

¨      Oversee the provision of promotional packs to support the Marketing and Sales strategy

¨      Provide IT support for the production, procurement, distribution and planning disciplines

¨      Play a key role in the innovation process by setting up supply chains for new direct materials, overseeing the planning of the launch and minimising any write offs resulting from pack changes

¨      Support the Head of Supply Chain with the annual procurement cycle, costings, and working to optimise processes in the supply chain

To qualify, you will need:

¨      A relevant formal qualification, preferably a Bachelors

¨       10 years relevant experience

¨       Thorough and detailed working knowledge of production and distribution planning systems and processes

¨       Inherent desire to continuously improve systems and processes in a working environment

¨       Demonstrated ability to professionally develop, coach and a motivate team

¨       Excellent communication skills across multiple levels and disciplines, and the ability to build positive working relationships within and outside the company

¨       Extremely proficient in Excel and related planning tool

¨       Must be self-motivated and results driven
